The BISD Family welcomes Dr. Gayle Stinson and family to Birdville. Dr. Stinson was hired by the Board as the new superintendent and will begin in the District on July 1.

Before joining Stowe Elementary, he was an assistant principal at Haltom Middle School from 2016–19; assistant principal at Stowe Elementary from 2015–16; assistant principal at Bowie Middle School in Irving ISD from 2013–15; dean of students at Austin Middle School in Irving ISD from 2012–13; and department chair, English as a second language teacher and Spanish teacher at Richland High School from 2008–12.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and master’s and doctorate degrees from Dallas Baptist University.
Birdville ISD is expected to receive federal funding through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER III), part of the American Recovery Plan Act of 2021. The funds will help cover the costs associated with safely reopening and sustaining the safe operation of schools this year, while addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students. In order to determine the best way for BISD to utilize these funds, we need your feedback.
The District is inviting you to take just a few minutes to complete the brief ESSER III Needs Assessment survey on how you believe these funds should be utilized.
