The 2016–17 Free and Reduced School Meal accounts expire Monday, Oct. 2. (Families must reapply for this program every year.) Birdville ISD provides an online application to help make the process of applying for this program easier and more convenient for parents.
ACT scores for the 2017 graduating class were released this week, and BISD’s composite score of 21.4 for English, mathematics, reading and science is higher than the state composite of 20.7 and the national composite of 21.0. Average scores on the individual portions of the tests were:
English – BISD scored 20.2 as compared to the state at 19.5;
Mathematics – BISD scored 21.4 as compared to the state at 20.7;
Reading – BISD scored 21.8 as compared to the state at 21.1; and
Science – BISD scored 21.5 as compared to the state at 20.9.
Individual campus scores were 22.4 for Birdville High, 19.7 for Haltom High, and 22.2 for Richland High. A total of 528 BISD students from the 2017 graduating class took the ACT.
