Congratulations to Binta Ka, Richland High School junior, for qualifying to run in the 1600m at the 2017 UIL Texas State Track and Field Meet in Austin. She braved 35-degree temperatures and rain at the Regional Spring Meet in Lubbock to win the silver medal. #BISDShines

Haltom High Student Leaders Selected to Participate at AVID Summer Institute in Dallas

Congratulations to Haltom High School students Bryan Mendoza and Javier Contreras for being chosen to represent Haltom as student leaders at this year’s AVID Summer Institute in Dallas. As student leaders, they will have an opportunity to participate in various Summer Institute demonstrations and leadership activities, as well as visit teacher teams to speak about their AVID experiences. Only 20 students were chosen out of numerous school districts throughout the region, so BISD is extremely proud of Bryan and Javier. #BISDShines

Principal at North Richland Middle School Named

Congratulations to Steve Ellis for being named principal at North Richland Middle School. He is replacing Ernie Valamides, who is retiring at the end of the 2016–17 school year.
