At their regular meeting, Birdville ISD’s Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Mike Dukes as principal of Holiday Heights Elementary. He is replacing Michael Wamsley, who recently left the District.

Dukes retired from Birdville in August 2015. Dukes was principal at Snow Heights Elementary from 2010–15, and principal at Spicer Elementary from 1999–2010.

He received his master’s degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas and his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington.

BISD is conducting a survey of campus staff, students in grades 3–12, and parents November 14 – December 2. The purpose of the survey is to gain insight on safety concerns across the District.

Click here to participate in the survey. It is important that parents take this opportunity to provide valuable information to the District regarding this issue.

Students will complete the survey at school.

Again, your feedback is important to BISD.
